Joining the Steering Committee is a great way to get more involved in the section, meet other IP attorneys, and, provided you qualify as an active member through meeting attendance and task completion, you can qualify for a complimentary registration for the Symposium.

9th Annual Symposium Steering Committee Kickoff Meeting – next Monday (8/7/2017) at 3:00 pm

It’s time to start preparing for the 9th Annual IP Symposium

Joining the Steering Committee is a great way to get more involved in the section, meet other IP attorneys, and, provided you qualify as an active member through meeting attendance and task completion, you can qualify for a complimentary registration for the Symposium.

The first call-in meeting is next Monday August 7, 2016 at 3 PM. All who want to volunteer and participate are welcome to attend!

The first order of business will be to select a date for the Symposium, taking into account conflicting events, such as school Spring Break schedules, other IP bar events, and holidays. Professor Carlisle’ Friday Blog Post – Google Called to the Carpet in Canada

Dear assorted sages and divas,

“We have not, to date, accepted that freedom of expression requires the facilitation of the unlawful sale of goods.” 1

With those incisive words, the Supreme Court of Canada finally called Google out for its long time practice of turning a blind eye to infringement of intellectual property, and ordered that Google block a pirate site, not just in Canada, but around the world.
