Dear IP Committee Member:
On July 6, 2006, the proposed Standards for Certification as a Board  Certified Intellectual Property Lawyer were approved by the Florida Supreme  Court. Congratulations to the IP Committee for the years of hard work invested  in attaining Board Certification for our practice area.  It is anticipated that  the first examination for Board Certification will be held in October, 2007.   The Application for Board Certification in Intellectual Property Law has been  posted by The Florida Bar on its website at

					The Application filing period opens on December 31, 2006, and the Application must be filed by February 28, 2007. Note that a requirement for Board Certification is 45 hours of CLE in the area of Intellectual Property during the previous three (3) years (July 1, 2004 – July 31, 2007). Several IP CLE courses will be offered over the next six months to provide an opportunity for CLE as well as to provide information regarding the Board Certification examination.
